MeepFest is being held at:
Left Bank Leeds
Cardigan Road
Leeds
LS6 1LJ
(N.b. if asking for directions/booking a taxi, it may be helpful to tell them Left Bank is “opposite the builders’ merchant on Cardigan Road”)
Bus
The best buses to get from Leeds city centre are the 19 towards Ireland Wood or the 19A towards Tinshill (pronounced “tins-hill”). Both buses stop outside Leeds Railway Station, and on York Street opposite Leeds Bus Station. A single journey will be £2.80 but an all-day ticket is £4. Look out for a BP petrol station on your right to know when to get off the bus. The closest bus stop is roughly opposite Left Bank, or continue to the next bus stop to reach the nearest pedestrian crossing, and then travel back down the hill.
Train
The nearest railway station is Burley Park and is 10-15 minutes travel away. Trains from Leeds will be travelling to either Harrogate, Knaresborough or Poppleton, and Burley Park is the first stop. Both platforms have step-free access. For trains out of Leeds, exit through the car park and make a U-turn to the left (this should take you round to the bridge over the station), then cross the road at the pedestrian crossing outside the Co-op and turn right down the hill. For trains travelling to Leeds, again exit past the car park, head right past the side of the Co-op, and then cross Cardigan Road and turn right down the hill.
Driving
Contact us if you want precise directions, but broadly speaking Cardigan Road is bounded at one end by the A65 (Kirkstall Road) which is one of the main roads into Leeds, and at the other end by the B6157 (North Lane/Kirkstall Lane) which meets the A660 Otley Road (another of the main roads into Leeds) in the centre of Headingley.
Left Bank has no parking of its own, but some nearby streets have unrestricted parking and usually have spaces available. If you need parking as close as possible, let us know and we will see if we can arrange something with the Cardigan Centre next door.
